Anderson Valley Gatlin Damnosus at the Independent Bar Tampa

A sour ale produced by aging barleywine in bourbon barrels for extended periods of time (as long as 2 years in some cases!) Gatlin Damnosus aroma is reminiscent of earthy red wines with a background of caramel and honey, with just a hint of wood and sourness. The flavor is intensely sour with a touch of acetic acid and notes of brown malt toast and ripe red fruit. The bourbon character really adds a savory, woody component that yields subtle notes of coconut and vanilla.

McAuslan Brewing's St-Ambroise Oatmeal Stout at the Independent Bar Tampa

From Quebec's McAuslan St-Ambroise come a very fine Oatmeal Stout. Now available at the Independent Bar Tampa.

"At the World Beer Championship in 1994, St-Ambroise Oatmeal Stout received the second highest rating of the over 200 beers in the competition and it won one of only nine platinum medals awarded.
Brewed from 40 percent dark malts and roasted barley, this intensely black ale carries strong hints of espresso and chocolate. Oatmeal contributes body and a long-lasting mocha-colored head to this well-hopped beer.

Oskar Blues Deviant Dales IPA at the Independent Bar Tampa

As the name implies the 8% ABV Pale Ale Deviant Dale's isn't a subtle beer. But it's a very good beer.

From Oskar Blues:

"Deviant Dale’s IPA (8% ABV, 85 IBUs) was born at the crossroads, in a juke joint, as if Dale’s Pale Ale sold its soul to balance Deviant’s foreboding aromas of citrus, grapefruit rind and piney resins with a copper ball-of-fire color and inscrutable finish. The 2011 GABF Silver Medal Winner (American IPA Category) is the Devil incarnate with untold amounts of malt and hedonistic Columbus dry-hopping. Oskar Blues’ southern spirit caught a northbound blues bus to ColoRADo to deliver the boundary bustin’ brewery’s first 16 oz. tallboy can."
