Evil Twin : Hipster Ale : Now in Can at Independent Bar Tampa

...ok but seriously don't prank call us.

"Do you have Hipster in a can?"

"Uh, why yes we do..."

From Evil Twin's description:

Perhaps you heard of a worldwide beer-movement that tributes favorite hipster neighbourhoods across the globe. First came Istedgade, Copenhagen then Södermalm, Stockholm followed by Williamsburg, New York and Shoreditch, London accompanied by Trastevere, Rome & last El Raval, Barcelona. If you feel excluded because you’re hip but your city is not, this cutting-edge, ‘hip without borders’ pale ale is an homage to you – the global hipster. Cheers!

Currently enjoying 89 - 90 ratings on rate beer and other sites, this isn't your normal hip urban canned beer selection. Featuring flavors associated with IPA beers but with a low ABV and a session Ale disposition, this is one fine beer that needs to get out of it's can and into your glass!

Why Canned Beer isn't a Bad Thing (from Gizmodo.com)

"Think about your beloved draught beer. That comes in a keg, right? A big, metal keg that is lined with the same type of coating as your humble little can." If your beer stays refrigerated from the brewery to the store, without sitting on a shelf somewhere at room temperature, everything should be great. And a canned beer won't be subject to light oxidation like a bottle beer would.

Marston's Oyster Stout, now on tap at the Independent Bar Tampa.

Traditionally in London at about the time of Dickens, Stout and Oysters were the poor man's meal, taken as good hearty tasty food. There are no Oysters in Oyster Stout, but the association is well established and you can now enjoy this great tasting traditional English Stout.

The unique character of Oyster Stout is brought about by fermentation with the Marston's strain of yeast. Taken from the Burton Unions, this yeast is very active and gives full attenuation of beer giving a dry clean after-palate. English Aroma Hops, Fuggles and Goldings are added for their fruity, floral and spicy contribution to the taste with the majority of the bitterness coming from the roasted malts. The final result is a rich, dark and extremely creamy smooth stout with good character and strength.

3RD Anniversary Party: Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA + Cigar City Marshall ZUCHOV + Great Divide Fresh Hop!

We're Tapping the Big Guns for our 3rd Anniversary Party!  Our 3rd anniversary only happens once, so we are planning on making October 17th a great time for everyone here at the Independent Bar Tampa. We will be tapping the elusive 120 Minute IPA from the Dogfish Head Brewery.

Pushing the boundaries of brewing, it is continuously hopped during its two hour boil, dry-hopped once a day for a month while fermenting, and then aged for an additional month on whole leaf hops! Clocking in at 18% ABV and 120 IBUs, it may leave you wondering, is this "too extreme to be a called a beer?" You be the judge!

Also being added on draft for the affair is GREAT DIVIDE FRESH HOP, and CIGAR CITY MARSHALL ZUCHOV!! Come celebrate with us!

Hövels Original Altbier now on Tap at the Independent Tampa

Hovels Altbier on tap at the Independent Bar TampaHovels Altbier Now On Tap and part of our Oktoberfest Liter Special Selection!

"A Düsseldorf specialty, an Altbier is a German style brown ale, the “alt” literally translates to "old" in German, and traditionally Altbiers are conditioned for a longer than normal periods of time. Other sources note that "alt" is derived from the Latin word "altus," which means "high" and refers to the rising yeast. Take your pick, but the extended conditioning mellows out the ale's fruitiness and produces an exceptionally smooth and delicate brew. The color ranges from amber to dark brown, medium in carbonation with a great balance between malt and hops. " - Beer Advocate
