Bell's Two Hearted Ale now on tap at the Independent Tampa

NOW ON TAP!! Bell's Two Hearted Ale (IPA, 7% abv) - this delicious beer is defined by its intense hop aroma and malt balance. Hopped exclusively with the Centennial hop varietal from the Pacific Northwest, massive additions in the kettle and again in the fermenter lend their characteristic grapefruit and pine resin aromas.

A significant malt body balances this hop presence; together with the signature fruity aromas of Bell's house yeast, this leads to a remarkably drinkable American-style India Pale Ale. Come and enjoy one or three!

On Tap: Jever Pilsener at the Independent Bar Tampa

Jever Pilsener at the Independent Bar Tampa
"Jever Pilsener is unique in taste. The secret lies in the water, which is still taken from the same well used well over 100 years ago. The water from our well is unusually pure and soft. That allows us to add a touch more hops to create the Friesian-bitter taste that distinguishes Jever Pilsner from any other beer."- Jever brewery
Although small, the 'Friesische Brauhaus zu Jever' has become a top brewery in Germany by producing a world classic extra dry pilsener. Founded in the 1840’s, Jever typifies the very dry style of pilsener from Friesland in the north-west corner of Germany and the beer is lagered for an impressive 90 days. Refreshing for the warm days in Florida. Stop in for a pint!

Old Peculier, available again in bottle: now at the Independent Bar Tampa

For a while there, one of England's most famous beers was conspicuously absent from shelves and bars all around the world as when the Theakston's brand had left family hands, several of their beers started to fade into obscurity. But in 2004 four of the Theakston brothers, Nick, Simon, Tim and Edward brought the brand back into into the family and major overhauls began at the original brewery in Masham, North Yorkshire, England.

The fruits of their labors have again brought us Old Peculier (5.6% ABV), Theakston's most famous beer. Old Peculier has been made under the same name since the 1890s. In 2000, it won the silver medal in the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA)'s "Champion Winter Beer of Britain" 2000 competition. The label on the bottle describes it as a "full bodied, rich, smooth tasting ale with a mysterious and distinctive flavour". In 1985 The Economist dubbed it the "doyen of real ales."

This is rich and malty English Ale at it's finest.

Come enjoy a bottle over at the Independent Bar Tampa!
