Marston's Oyster Stout, now on tap at the Independent Bar Tampa.

Traditionally in London at about the time of Dickens, Stout and Oysters were the poor man's meal, taken as good hearty tasty food. There are no Oysters in Oyster Stout, but the association is well established and you can now enjoy this great tasting traditional English Stout.

The unique character of Oyster Stout is brought about by fermentation with the Marston's strain of yeast. Taken from the Burton Unions, this yeast is very active and gives full attenuation of beer giving a dry clean after-palate. English Aroma Hops, Fuggles and Goldings are added for their fruity, floral and spicy contribution to the taste with the majority of the bitterness coming from the roasted malts. The final result is a rich, dark and extremely creamy smooth stout with good character and strength.

On Tap: Weyerbacher Sierra (Milk Stout) at the Independent Tampa

Weyerbacher Sierra, the new offering from the Brewer's Select Series is now on tap for a limited time at the Independent Bar Tampa. Sierra (the NATO / phonetic alphabet letter “S”) is the next up in our series of Brewers’ Select beers.  Sierra is Weyerbacher’s take on a milk stout.

From the Brewery: 

"Starting off with a healthy dose of Maris Otter as a base we integrate some roasted barley, plenty of chocolate and munich malts, a touch of flaked oats and some milk sugar (lactose) to balance out this roasty treat.

The dark chocolate and roastiness stemming from the malts along with the slight residual cream-like sweetness left from the milk sugar make for a complementary flavor that’s sure to please the stout lover and even those not yet familiar with this old English style of ale."

NOW ON TAP: Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout at the INDEPENDENT BAR

NOW ON TAP at the Independent Bar Tampa: The famous BROOKLYN BLACK CHOCOLATE STOUT, an award winning Russian Imperial Stout. The brewers use three mashes to brew this beer. Specially roasted malts give this beer a lucious deep dark chocolate flavor. 10% ABV. It will taste delicious with a strong cheese, or a slice of our delicious chocolate cake!!
